We are regularly monitoring the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as well as state and city mandates and, are incorporating these additional measures to provide the highest level of safety.
Chauffeur Safety Practices
Chauffeurs have always embodied the fundamentals of good personal hygiene and health awareness. In consideration of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented additional precautionary measures.
Chauffeurs are monitored for symptoms by completing a COVID-19 health questionnaire before the start of each trip. Chauffeurs exhibiting any symptoms or having been exposed to COVID-19 will be removed from future trips and sent for testing. Return to work will only be permitted with a negative test cleared by a physician.
Chauffeurs are required to wear masks and gloves at all times and are also provided with hand sanitizer. For your safety and the safety of our team, we strongly encourage all passengers to also wear a mask. Disposable masks are available for passengers upon request.
Chauffeurs are provided with disposable towels and EPA approved alcohol disinfectant to sanitize the interior and exterior of the vehicle before and after each service.
Chauffeurs and employees are reminded to stay home at any time they are feeling ill.
Vehicle Sanitation Procedures
Our vehicles have always been well cleaned and detailed regularly but we have now implemented the CDC recommended protocols for additional disinfection of our vehicles.
Before the first service of the day and after the last trip of the day, vehicles are sanitized and disinfected throughout with high-temperature steam over 220° In addition, all surfaces and vehicle touchpoints are additionally disinfected with EPA approved list of disinfectants.
In the event of a possible presence of COVID-19 in one of our vehicles, the vehicle will be taken out service for a minimum of 48 hours and thoroughly disinfected and sanitized.
In addition to the detailed disinfecting processes at the beginning and end of each day, vehicles are sanitized and disinfected before and after each passenger change.
To minimize common touchpoints and help mitigate contamination, magazines, newspapers, candy, and waters have been temporarily removed. Bottled water is available upon request.
While our larger vehicles may have dividers between the chauffeur and passenger, we currently do not have dividers in our smaller vehicles due to the safety concern for their installation in these vehicles in case of an impact.
Hand sanitizer is available for all passengers.
Physical Distancing Protocols
KLS Worldwide will continue to deliver the highest caliber of service while adhering to the physical distancing protocols.
Chauffeurs will refrain from shaking hands during this time to help limit personal contact.
Chauffeurs will inquire with the passenger for the handling of their own bags should the passenger prefer their belongings not be touched.
Per CDC guidelines vehicle seating arrangements now exclude front seat seating. For larger vehicles with more than one passenger, it is recommended to have one passenger per row or to have a zigzag seating pattern.
Per CDC guidelines we recommend lower windows to help facilitate better air circulation within the vehicle. Chauffeurs have been trained to allow fresh air in from the car vents by not using the air re-circulation button.
